Time To Put My Money Where My Mouth Is
I am a PR professional. I make my living maximizing positive exposure and minimizing negative. I try to keep my executives happy, my company in the news, and my legal department out of court. And I have until this moment been an armchair blogger. Time to change that and hit the high seas. I felt this map was good place to start.
We PR folks are modern day Magellans. I don't want to overstate our mission, but we are navigators in a brave new era of communications, heretofore unchartered. While we may not encounter modern day sea serpents and mermaids, we are seeking through blogs, wikis and podcasts alternative routes to the old world of journalism and, in the process, we hopefully will find new ones. We enter at our own peril, but explore we must. The promise of riches is just too great to hide behind press releases and sound bites on the network news.
This is the first blog I have ever signed on to! I get "blogged" all the time by the Post and the Times, tho.
So far, it looks snazzy to me.
Of course, I had a typo in the name...used sauce instead of source...completely dissing the pun!
